British Computer Society LogoI am a professional member of the British Computer Society (BCS), having been elected on the 26th of August 2004. I gained full member status having succesfully completed a BCS accredited degree course. Membership of the BCS ensures that I must follow the BCS Code of Conduct and subsequently adhere to a high level of professional conduct whilst working in the IT Industry. I am committed to following a career development path which will lead to Chartered IT Professional (CITP) status.

Updated 31/04/08:

In May 2006 I was appointed the Young Professionals Group Officer of the Preston & District Branch.

This meant I was the first point of contact for BCS members aged 18-35 in the North West and tasked me with the responsibility of publicising branch events and liaising with both Lancaster University and the University of Central Lancashire.
