ImageWith security in mind, my current employer has sent me on a fantastic applied ethical hacking course with Sec-1 Security in Salford Quays Manchester. The course was led by an experienced hacker and penetration tester (Gary O'Leary Steele) and covered quite a lot of hands on hacking including the proper use of NSLOOKUP to identify suitable target servers, ARP Cache poisoning to steal and crack passwords and SQL injection. Of course, the whole point in learning these skills is to be able to understand the types of attacks that organisations can experience so that security can be suitably tightened. All in all it was an excellent course, a string to my bow and has stimulated a great deal of further reading and interest. It has given me the skills to conduct a penetration test of our network.
